OCS Solutions has a deep commitment to preserving nature and the environment. We believe in using as little resources as possible to provide our services, while maintaining a sufficient level of backup and redundancy capacity available. This not only saves us money (the savings of which we can pass on to you), but also reduces our footprint on the planet's resources.
Environmentally Friendly Web Hosting
We have an unwavering respect for the environment and the world we live in. Our impact on the planet is measured in everything we do. It makes sense that the bulk of our optimizations in this regard have gone to web hosting, as this is our most resource intensive service. To this end, we've provided a list of just some of the energy-saving technologies and techniques we use in our datacenters:
- Variable-speed and frequency drive motors
- Use of eco-friendly refrigerants and water-cooling devices
- Energy-saving hardware is purchased whenever possible
- Chilled water air handlers
Reducing our Administrative Footprint
Saving resources and doing more with less doesn't stop in the datacenter. Our offices and staff are constantly striving for ways to become more environmentally friendly in our day to day operations. Some of the techniques we use to reduce our footprint on the Earth include:
- Extremely limited use of paper - our goal is 100% paperless
- Telecommuting whenever possible
- Using energy saving office equipment and computers
- Turning off equipment when not in use and when feasible
- Use of eco-friendly cleaning chemicals whenever possible
- Recycling waste whenever possible
